Written by ABC news reporter Dan Harris and incorporating his own personal experience, this book looks at meditation in a way that will be eye-opening to the majority of Americans. For instance, did you know that Bill Clinton meditates? How about 50 Cent? How about school kids, medical patients and prison inmates? Even the Marine Corps has conducted large-scale tests to see if meditation can help make more effective and resilient soldiers. The read is a great ride through worlds as different as neuroscience and New Age. It’s a curious, skeptical and often funny inquiry how a simple, ancient practice can improve our everyday lives.
